Dango

I've been craving to eat dango(sweet dumpling with red bean paste) and I 've made some today.

Tamagoyaki

How to make Japanese omlet(egg roll) .There are sweet kind and salty one but my favourite is definately sweet version. You could use it as a filling for sushi roll too.

to make big 2 rolls,
8eggs
4 tbsp sugar
110ml of dashi
1 tbsp of soy sauce(got to be kikkoman or any kinds of Japanese products)

vegetable oil to bake

Mix everything well .(apart from vegetable oil)
Heat the pan with a little bit of oil and pour the mixture for a bit and spread,
when it's cooked 80%,roll it and add some more mixture and do the same (a bit of oil,pour the mixture,roll,pour the mixture,roll)again and again and again until the mixture 's gone half .And for the next batch,do the same!
It's nice to have when it's hot but it's lovely to eat when it's cool too.

I'm using the traditional pan just for making egg rolls but it's absolutely fine to use normal pan.

Steamed aubergine with ponzu

Look at this lovely bowl !I bought it at the pottery studio of Reiko Kaneko in Stoke the other day.Absolutely beautiful piece of art.Nice potteries motive me to cook beautiful food and they make the food look really special.That's the magic of nice potteries I believe.Today I steamed some aubergine and marinated with homemade ponzu(Japanese citrus fruit and soy sauce vinegary condiment) and sesami seeds.My favourite Delicious and healthy summer dish.Yummy.

Hijiki and fu

Hijiki is a sort of seaweeds .High in iron and calcium and low calories.Fu is made out of gluten comes from strong flour so perhaps it may not be good for people doing gluten free diet but it's one of essencial protein sources for macrobiotic people and also my granny and auntie were always cooking something with it.I cooked these 2 ingredients together with soy sauce ,fish stock and some agave syrup and sesami seeds.I love to eat this dish with some steamed brown rice and their nutrition is almost perfect according to macrobiotic's idea. I'm using some fish stock to give depth to the flavor so I'm breaking the rule in terms of macrobiotic method actually but my point is to enjoy and being healthy so who cares!!
